Well i can play doom3 and half life 2 fine at 1920x1200 but this runs alot slower than those two though. Hopefully your results differ but i think the doom-esque normal mapping (lighting) takes a hit on the fps.

Yes... very much so... all my widescreen resolutions were there out of the box. Unfortunately it runs slower than other games so i could not run my native resolution of 1920x1200. I settled on 1600x900 which is a 16:9 resolution. Since that looked a little stretched i messed with there aspect ratio ...

Hopefully this will be fixed with patch so widescreen res work but do you have an nvidia card? If so, do you see that effect when you turn off scaling or set to fixed aspect scaling? I would prefer that over windowed. Update : Or can you run widescreen resolution in window? That may be more useful t...

Well it is too bad it doesn't support widescreen (how hard could it have been), but thanks to this thread i am happy with 1600x1200 stretched to a 16:10 display using only fov of 95. I couldn't get the anamorph var to look right. A little bit of tunnel vision but much better than default stretch. As...

I understand what you are saying, but this is an rts, the camera is zoomable... you just can't zoom out as far as in 4:3 mode... still looks perfect at the height the camera is at. Its not an ideal solution, but it is a solution. FOV adjust fine (no stretch), its the camera height that is compromise...

Ground Control 2 was/is fun. I was playing it for a while on hdtv. Although it sort of an RTS it lets you pause so i was able to use a gamepad. Of course mouse/keyboard would be best. You can also increase font sizes within game so text is readable. It has a good story with some cool cinematics and ...

I just tried the demo and it supported all my custom resolutions, ran good at 1440x900 and looked like no stretch. Game seems ok and the graphics are great, I will have to pick this up once it hits bargain bins. It reminds me of a game called cold zero which i liked alot but that game had no widescr...

I just played a demo of Rome Total War (Upcoming sequel to Med Tot War) and it supports every widescreen resolution on my laptop and even has a widescreen checkbox which it says fixes aspect ratio. This is very good if you dont mind waiting until the next version. I played a little at 1440x900 and i...

Don't get your hopes up... the game only officially supports a 'fake' widescreen. Only regular resolutions are available but you can turn on a widescreen option to crop top and bottom. Appears they understood the adding a cinematic mode but did not go to the trouble of supporting real widescreen res...

Not that i've noticed this personally but to address the 60fps thing : (taken from : http://www.bluesnews.com/plans/313/ ) Another question I have had multiple emails about, yes the game is capped at 60fps for normal game play. For render demos, like what was used for the HARD OCP stuff, we run thos...

Update : The game has been released and i have purchased it and installed it on my laptop and HTPC (HDTV + computer) and it supports widescreen perfectly. I am currently working through the single player campaign on my HDTV using a gamepad mapped to all the controls. Its nirvana (but this type of ga...

Thanks! Pandora now runs at 1440x900 on my notebook, although i might shift it to my hdtv now that it does widescreen.

I wonder if this will work for Thief 3 (another botched widescreen game using the Unreal Engine) ?

Very acceptable hack! Thanks.

Um if you have an HDTV you can run XBOX Sims bustin out at 720p widescreen. On a pc, i doubt the old sims games would, but SIMS2 which should come out within 6months or so (and uses a more brand new 3d engine) may. So for what i guess was your real question (old sims on pc), I dont know  Maybe ...
