I take what I said back. I definitely do have the DX9 bug. I just incinerated a splicer and the body looks like a big chocolate bar with no textures. Sigh. |

[quote]Uh guys, I check several locations and took some sample shots in DX9 and DX10 and I can't find a single difference. Hi kilmar, I understand that it's not happening on every system, so you are lucky, trust me its like playing the game with everything set to LOW DETAIL... I know of that bug an... |

Uh guys, I check several locations and took some sample shots in DX9 and DX10 and I can't find a single difference. I made sure I was running in DX9 mode by going into options and making sure the DirectX 10 texture option was greyed out. Took the pics by using a temporary save slot and taking the pi... |

Kind of silly that the Xbox version is widescreen while the PC version is not. |

Well, at least 3 of the biggest games from the last couple years have this effect (whether in widescreen or not), so it's certainly not unusual. Unusual? No. Normal? No. Just because the 3 biggest games out now have wrong FoV, doesn't make it normal or correct. Actually, Doom 3 and Quake 4 have the... |

@ Kilmar ... It's normal with most games for things to get fatter towards the edges of the screen... even at 4:3 ... and it gets worse the wider your screen is ... Yes, the wider towards the edge of the screen (aka fisheye lens effect) is called "not the correct Field of Vision". It is not normal. ... |

You can edit the config to get 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 to work, but there's no way to fix the FoV and the FoV is WAAAAAAY off. People to the left and right of the screen look like Danny Devito, only shorter. If anyone knows a way to fix the FoV, please reply. |

All signs point to no. Neither the ini file nor the registry has any mention of resolution. |

[quote]Configured it for 1920x1200 anf 100.38886 on the system.ini works for me. the resolution might work but if you take a look at your crosshair, its not a perfect circle, its a little bit stretched which suggests that it's still at 90 FOV... are you talking about the demo or the retail? I've looked everywhere (including the exe file to see if I can hex the code). I've found nothing. I don't think it's possible. Hell, I'd love to just make it work at 1600x1200, which I wasn't even able to do. |

I got it to work on 1680x1050 via the PC the same way as the demo. I wonder if I can do 1920x1200 when the new monitor arrives...
Still working on FOV. |

It doesn't look like there's any difference between the 1600x1200 and 1920x1200. Check the sides and corner and they pretty much match up. |

Strange, all I did was plug in the new monitor, let it detect new hardware, and I was able to get 1680x1050 without tweaking anything. For good measure, I updated the monitor driver just in case.
Of course, I have an ATi X800XT PE and not an NV 6800, but it should work the same. |
