I tried to do some research about this game on the Nival forums and elsewhere and the only thing I found was a tantalizing clue that somewhere some Nival people had discussed doing something about the resolution on widescreen laptops. But I wasn't able to find the actual posts that were being descri... |

I'd love to know the answer to this too...I just started replaying it yesterday and the Silent Storm fansite that I saw seemed to indicate that the config files for this game are extremely widescreen unfriendly. I found the same exact thing although I have the baseline 6800. As soon as I turned the shader to 2.0 things were very fluid. I was then able to pump up some of the other settings. The only things in Riddick that didn't look good to me were the lighting and particle effects in the air ducts after th... |

I was stunned at the number of widescreen/aspect ratio settings in Riddick. I wasn't even sure what most of them were. I'm guessing that if you set your 16:10 monitor to a 16:9 mode and you want it to look better you select the 16:9 -> 16:10 option and it stretches it a bit? [EDIT: Missed that this ... |

Same here. Everything worked right out of the box in HL2 with my new 2005. It's amazing to me how one person can find that XP quickly and easily detects things whereas others find that it just won't work without extra hacking. Once that starts happening it's probably best to do a reinstall. :( |
