All of the half-life games and mods allow the selection of widescreen resolutions, but they are all vert- unless you change the FOV. I've listed to the best of my knowledge which games support FOV changing below. @august, although changing some settings like resolution does affect other half-life en... |

I was thinking of starting a guild for "hero online" with users from this forum. I don't expect to get many takers though, considering that there is already a couple guilds going on for other games. However, this might get the attention of some other ppl who are too cheap to buy a game, because "Her... |

That's amazing, I really love how it makes your desktop look simple and uncluttered yet functional. Is there a way that I can do something like that on my desktop without having to purchase any software? All I need is to have different regions of the desktop that I can click on to start programs or ... |

ya, the graphics were on low, not in game though. I turned all the settings in my graphics card to focus on performance instead of quality for another game. Not sure but I from what I've seen it doesn't really make that much of a difference in FPS. Some games have ways to modify the HUD's and reloca... |

Also, I've noticed that when using the tactical overhead map (while running in widescreen) the circles representing the player locations sometimes get WAY off course. Here is a screenshot: http://www.geocities.com/temp4files4/map.JPG I changed to 4:3 and there were no problems. It sometimes gets eve... |

That works for me, just name the day.
I get about 180Kb/s, and it says it takes about 11-12min. I'm located in Texas, Mountain Time zone, so that means for me it should be 11am. |

When I make the custom resolution of '800x500' I restart my computer, then the resolution is available, when I switch to it, it goes to panning mode. To figure out why it does this, I right clicked the tray icon display profiles -> configure -> advanced timing options in the horizontal section is sa... |

Well, thank everyone for all of your help. With the custom rez I added I can my game now has that resolution available, However, there is still one more problem. If I use the custom rez on the desktop it's in panning mode, so part of the screen doesn't show and when I move my mouse there the screen ... |

Would be nice if there was a section that had downloadable widescreen wallpapers and screensavers.
[EDIT] I just saw the banner at the top of this page:

and something like that would be an awesome wallpaper. |

I have a game that gives the option to select only those resolutions allowed by your desktop. I would like to play it in widescreen, but the lowest 16:10 resolution available is '1280x800'. I only bring this up because I read somewhere about a game that did the same thing, and they posted a way to a... |

For example, this when I come to this post it fits my screen and I don't have to scroll left or right at all, but there is a post on this section of the forum titled "image gallery ?" when I go to that po... |
