There is a post dated Sept 9, 2004 in Solutions folder that begins with: "Since Sims 2 support all of wide screen resolution up to 1600 x 1200 out of the box, there is no special tweak / patch need for wide screen support under 1600 x 1200. However it did not support resolution higher than 1600 x 12...
