| Just to reiterate what everyone has already said - 512k is absolutely perfect for online gaming, and probably always will be. Have you ever looked at how much bandwidth is used when playing a game? VERY little! Whoever said that 512k isnt enough mustn't have a very good ISP! You wont be able to host... |

| Your video drivers should have an option saying "centered timings" or "fixed aspect scaling" or "1:1 scaling", simply enable this to have borders and no stretching. |

| Indeed that would be the perfect solution, but unfortunately ATi cards, while more powerful and cheaper than nVidia cards, dont support aspect scaling :( |

Hi all,
would it be a feasible idea to run a non-widescreen game in windowed mode to avoid stretching? Would this give a big performance hit? I was thinking for example Battlefield 2.

| Wow, I was actually very shocked at how good the graphics were, especially the spinning portal! And that was running on a 286?! That game would have been a best seller is theyd have released it back then. Now it's just another FPS. |
