Venice is about 10 times cooler to run around in than the previous cities. Also, I got my first "please wait while the connection is reestablished" message tonight... lasted about 5 seconds, then I was right back where I was. Didn't bother me too much honestly, but only because the DRM is still work...

This all ends in government action over the internet.

That's the truth, sadly.

Look at the UK right now: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/03/17/britishers-unite-for-internet-justice/

Human's can't control themselves, they need punishments and authority or it's anarchy.

[quote]I make sure to have backup copies of all my GOG purchases, just in case. I don't trust them to be around or offering the same wares in a few years like I do Steam or other such services. Yeah I do the same with my GOG library. I'm hoping GOG will be around for a long time. The fact that they...

The idea that pirates would never buy games if piracy never existed is the silliest anti-DRM statement anyone can ever make. It's just ludicrous. That said, I agree flogging paying customers is not the best tactic when there is no point to it, like SecuROM and Steamworks which do not stop piracy but...

It's worse than AC2 in that a disconnection means you lost all mission progress and you cannot reconnect mid-mission... AC2 pauses to allow you to reconnect, and saves the exact place you stopped playing if you quit.

[quote]I didn't even know Operation Flashpoint was on GOG, I would have bought it. Had they announced the game was going to get pulled by a certain date--like they did for Dirt and TOCA 3--I would have definitely purchased it. Sadly, now games just vanish without warning. That is indeed lame. I mak...

I love Tanuki's rants... the game has worked perfectly for me, and it is actually stopping piracy so far, so I have few complaints, but I understand where he is coming from. I read that Steam post by Furyo of Ubisoft myself about Ubi making no money on PC, which I think must be a relatively recent t...

Bladerunner is my favorite movie of all time.

Deus Ex is my favorite video game of all time.

This game is pretty much a disappointment from the word go, but I am not usually the type to let that stop me from enjoying things. I enjoyed Invisible War for heaven's sake.

Also for those who are wondering why this game runs bad on a lot of systems, that would not only be due to the graphics but also PhysX. If you dont have an Nvidia card installed it offloads the work to the cpu - there is no option to turn PhysX off that im aware of. But unlike other games with that...

I think anytime there's a fixed camera it becomes pillarboxed in surround. There are a few acrobatic sequences in the dungeons where they fix the camera for you and it becomes pillarboxed. They're very rare though. If this is true I would call it a blemish... the fixed camera angles happen relative...

One thing I didn't like in AC1: any soldier can climb and jump and make his way to the rooftops as fast as you, the ultimate assassin. This is true, though they climb and jump a lot slower than you can. AC2 has speedy free-runner guards that are actually quicker than you, the ultimate assassin. Tho...

Wal-Mart ordered like 30 copies and all of them were still sitting there tonight, crammed in and begging for attention.

I was into the idea of doing a Dawn of War 2 thing with it, but so far everyone says it's BAD Dawn of War 2, so... meh.

FOV and other hack settings work, you have to follow this updated guide: Tweaks: 1.Adjust user settings There is two user.cfg One is located in your: appdata/local/4agames/metro2033 The other is in your steam folder under: userdata/*youraccountnumber*/43110/remote If you want to tweak any setting un...

Changing the FOV in that file does not work, even with read only applied. Other settings do though, so I am assuming that is not the default FOV setting. Might try writing in another? Game seems awesome but is a BEAST on a single GPU like mine. On normal settings with no AA I am lucky to keep 30fps....

I think if you disliked AC1 because of a lack of variety in things to do you will like this game a lot more.

Also I think AC1 looked better, at least on PC, due to less pop-in. The pop-in in this game is just terrible.

On everything else I agree though, and I am enjoying the game very much.

It will if you bring it up in the second post in a yet another flame-bating way. Some of your posts are becoming quite tiresome. I wasn't flame-baiting, I was expressing frustration because a thread on the RUSE beta has to start with a comment about DRM. I didn't bring it up, I responded to it, and...

To be fair... "most" people don't even know forums exist. By default, those tech-savvy enough to find forums and be active on them are going to be aware of the DRM, and thus are going to talk about it. Perhaps it's just the forums I visit, but I've seen no real discussion of the game and lots of di...

Black bars don't make things more cinematic. Wide aspect ratio does. Black bars is just a byproduct that must occur when video AR exceeds screen AR.

At that time, when most everything was 4:3, adding black bars was a technique used to make things appear more cinematic.
