I'm wondering if the PCI-E bus would ever become a limiting factor. I don't know how fast the PCI-E bus is in practice or if there is some overhead that is needed besides the image.
But I am quite confident that the PCI-E bus won't be a limiting factor in any case. |

That what I heard of was that the f. g. the performance with 2 8800gtx at GTR2 at 3 x 1600x1200 was worse than 3840x1024 with one 8800gtx card and TH2go. Is it true, if yes what is the reason when it is not the pcie interface ? SoftTH doesn't support SLI, so the in both cases the game is rendered u... |

Can we assume that the PCI-E x8 lane can actually reach its theoretical maximum bandwidth?I think the bandwidth of the PCI-E is the smallest of problems here. With resolutions as high as 3x 2560x1600 (7680x1600) the power of the computer will become a problem a lot sooner, considering that you can'... |

[quote]You only need a DX10 GPU to use resolutions over 4096. You mean the resolution at one dvi interface? Did you test it? If yes how? What do you mean? There are no single displays that have that high resolution. I meant a SoftTH setup with a combined resolution of over 4096. That's what the OP ... |

But in fact it would be interesting if it makes any difference when the vgas are linked with 16 lanes each (NF5 U SLI) in comparisen to 8 lanes ( NF4 SLI).It shouldn't make a difference. A 8x PCIe can transfer data at 4GB/s and for example 2560x1600@60Hz needs only about 1GB/s of bandwidth (Correct... |

SoftTH doesn't support SLI properly, so it uses the secondary card only to transmit the image to the third screen. So having a having 2x8800 or 8800 + 6200 makes no difference at all. |

Wouldn't a texture size limit, limit texture size? Or does direct X consider the final output a texture as well? BTW it is possible to render an image without textures. Yes. The final output image is a one single texture. |

Ok. The color depth doesn't effect the max resolution. The resolution is limited by DirectX maximum texture size. Which is 4096x4096. OpenGL probably has a similar limitation too. Because of this limitation all GPUs only support resolutions up to 4096x4069. DirectX10 has widened the limit to 8192x81... |

An inaccuracy here, As of recent LFS versions, the FOV can be expanded up to 160 degrees. Edited. This report was based on a older version when 120 was the max. |

I don't see the situation changing for either way. It will stay the same. TH2G is still a expensive device and 3 monitors take a lot of space, so not many people will have those. That leads to developers not being very interested in supporting TH2G. Supporting widescreen is a must have feature now a... |

Overall I was impressed at the SoftTH utility but there seem to be a lot of problems with the game menus. I prefer the TH2G, it is smoother and offers much faster framerates and you can play in SLI mode which is huge. I only play games in blocks (finish a game, take a break, etc...)SoftTH in theory... |

1368x768 It is 1366x768 to be exact. it's just most computers can only output/the TV can only accept 1360x768 or 1368x768. |

Here is te cursor, kind of hard to see on the screenshot, but it's not stretched.
And here is the picture for the talking icons, it's same as with the inventory
I also noticed that the text is stretched too as you can see from above pics. |

Are there HUD elements other than the inventory items?
Only the icons when talking, I just checked them and they are streched too. |
