Well according to this helpo site from matrox you do get it in the edit mode list, look to the bottom ..highlighted in green http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/gxm/windows/th2go/digital/howto1/ Sorry mate, but thats the 'change mode' option not the 'edit mode' option, If the button on the ri... |

You can't have 5040x1050 in the 'Edit Mode' list. I think it's because it's a custom resolution to the NVidia driver but a native one to the TH2Go (if that makes sense). I can confirm that the 178.13 drivers work wonderfully in XP 32bit. No probs at all. In Vista 64 bit however, it's a no go. Back t... |

[quote]Are you guys sure you are getting 5040x1050 in FSX? Could you please confirm that. Just because the sim pulls up does not mean it is actually utilizing the resolution in game. To be sure, try setting the resolution to say 3840x800 or 3840x900 and go to cockpit view, see what your FOV looks li... |

I'm not sure if the new SGU uses this solution for Morrowind for 5040x1050... Open up mw_fps_opt.ini located in the Morrowind directory. You obviously have to have the FPS optimizer installed. Under the heading [misc2page] are the FOV and FOV aspect variables. Set the FOV to 140 and the FOV aspect t... |

Now your taking my thoughts (I did say "I think") and putting them in to Matrox's mouth ... It could be they did clarify this more ... I dunno ... I don't use Vista I dropped it long ago. If in fact they are the only cards that will do the res .. if they didn't mention it someone would complain ...... |

Come on Paddy, you know as well as i do that that is very naughty. Stating you need a directx10 card for 5040x1050 but that actually it wont work in directx10 mode ingame at that resolution is extremely misleading. I mean it's just plain wrong... Whats the chances it'll never support directx10 at th... |

Surely this can't be right?
Matrox say you must have a directx10 card to use 5040x1050, yet you can't select it in directx10 mode ingame? WTF?
Is there any official answer? or unofficial for that matter? |

I'd like to be able to compile a list of games that work in Directx10 mode ingame at a resolution of 5040x1050 because so far I haven't been able to select one... Games that work must meet the following criteria: 1. 5040x1050 resolution. 2. Directx10 mode. 3. Correct FOV and aspect ratio. 4. Fullscr... |

Thanks for the reply!
So I think it's safe to assume 5040x1050 doesn't work in directx10.
That really really sucks... |

Thats exactly the problem I was having (with the mouse to the right) in DX10. Now it just doesn't work at all in 5040x1050. I have to set it to single screen to have a viewable dx10 experience. Bioshock also doesn't work in dx10 (but it works in dx9). I could do with an answer from anyone who has go... |

Yeah, thats the weird thing. Both options in Vista. I can't understand it. I mean I don't mind playing in directx9 mode, it just seems strange that Directx10 doesn't work in triple screen, and I was wondering if it is an issue in all directx10 games with this resolution? edit: Ok now Bioshock wont w... |

Has anyone else suffered this glitch and is it a directx 10 problem with the latest Matrox software?
I use Vista Home Premium (32bit) |

Hi Paddy, Yeah it was set to 3840x1024 but the 4080x768 is the highest res I can set using the edit mode list. 5040x1050 is already selectable under the 'change' button settings as normal. I just wonder if it's only seeing the edit mode list in certain games. I'm going to try a reinstall of all the ... |

Thanks for the replies chaps. Well I have no idea how to get bioshock and the others running at 5040x1050 then, the highest it'll go is 4080x768. Very strange.
Is a re-install worth it do you think? Or any other advice? |

I have my desktop set to 5040x1050. It's great. Some of my games run at this resolution too. They are also great. However, my native resolution under 'Nvidia Control Panel' then 'Flat Panel Scaling' is 4080x768. This is the highest resolution I can add using the Powerdesk 'Edit Mode List' Certain ga... |

Yeah, it's the same in both those resolutions.. It handled 3840x1024 perfectly. At the moment I've got it in 4080x768 which works fine with plenty of AA. Now you mention it it works in a window at 5040x1050. How strange is that? I can't understand it.... Come to think of it, my native desktop resolu... |

The only game that supported 3840x1024 that I'm struggling with is Lord of the rings online. It allows me to select the resolution in game but the mouse acts all weird. I have to click a couple of centimetres to the right on any button to make it work.... anyone any ideas? |

This advice definitely works. I've tried it on all my game that supported 3840x1024 and they all, without exception, work at 5040x1050. Marvellous. |
