Yeah, I was as equally surprised once I powered it on. I've been through more monitors than I care to share, but without a doubt the curved LG was the first monitor I've ever experienced that had bleed and not even a little but a LOT!! I would definitely wait for their next rev if you want to go cur... |

I looked around the net and others posted similar bleed issues...so I'm going to say for now it's a model issue. Some speculate it's the bezel and that it is too tight in the corners, which I believe was a similar issue on the non-curved model, 34um95. I love the curved idea and looks and down the r... |

Here are some pics of the backlight issue I experienced. Please note they are taken with an ipad, not a camera...but they still show the backlight issue rather well, which is to say bad!! |

So, I returned the LG 34uc97...I just couldn't live with the awful backlight issue in all 4 corners, 3 of the corners were just plain silly. I'm surprised it passed QC before shipping out!! I will post some pics so others can see and be forewarned. If you really want 21:9 and curved, I would wait fo... |

I grabbed my wallet and it lost the argument, thus I now have a new 34UC97. I haven't yet had time to walk it through a battery of games, movies and productivity...I hope to do so soon. Since I already have a Dell 29" 2560x1080, I'm familiar with the 21:9 format and all the pluses and minuses. ... |

Found a few videos from IFA...unless Dell or LG price it way beyond what I think it will be (1100-1500), I will treat myself for Xmas
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWHk9Q-M1qk
Initial pricing estimates in Europe seem to be around $1100 euros, so a price under $1500 US seems do-able. |

Damn, I missed these 2 announcements over the past few weeks...too damn busy with work, ugh!! LG announced their 34" curved 21:9 display first: https://pcmonitors.info/lg/lg-34uc97-curved-ultrawide-display/ (check out the link to the Korean LG site for more info!!) And then Dell announced their... |

Like many of us here, I've been rocking all sorts of multi-monitors and widescreen setups for a long time. My most recent addition was a Dell 21:9. I like it but I've never been a fan of 1080 vertical, it "feels" to confining. The more vertical the better...to me. Sounds like LG listened o... |

...No warping software, no blending software. Worked a treat :) Wow, that's impressive no blending software. I assume you could still use Nthusim or Warpalizer to ease the setup?? I'm guessing from the image the rough dimensions are about 4ft x 5ft x 2ft (height x width x depth)...full depth (of th... |

I didn't have any good mental examples of first surface mirrors other than what is in a rear projection tv and then I found this!! http://www.cobrasimulation.com/index.php/home Since I have no experience with these mirrors, in the example above is the mirror flat or (I assume) convex. I'm pretty goo... |

Thanks Marius and Brad for some info.
Brad, with respect to rear projection, unless I am missing something I would need at least 3ft behind the screens in order to mount the projectors...given that 3ft is roughly the minimum focus distance for the BenQ.
Right?? |

Thanks Brad... Silly question, by applying 3m rear projection film, are you assuming the projectors will be rear mounted? I don't have the space to rear mount the projectors. I am thinking the 2 projectors will be on arms on top of and in front of the curved screen. I like the plexiscreen idea but I... |
