| Dr. Watson will hang explorer.exe for no reason, explorer dies, explorer restarts, all is well again. I remember that drw .exe and .dll files and the aedebug or something registry entry was one of the first tweak I applied to any new xp install. As far as I'm concerned dr. watson has always crashed... |

| I've put vista on all my pcs, including my recent inspiron mini that I wiped of xp and put vista on it. Why? I've generally had less problems with vista than xp. This laptop (not the inpiron) has only recently got it's first bluescreen, and that fault lies with buggy powerdvd ultra, not vista itself... |

Tried removing both 3 keys to see if that fixed it?
My eclipse has worked fine for years now, though I've recently had problems with it stop working (unplug/replug fixes that, could be a loose connection somewhere along the path or my switch). |

| Doesn't Squ1zzy's unipatcher work with just about any game, provided you know the 4 byte offsets for each res. part (like 2 for 1360 and 2 for 768 in this case) And from what I've seen, nfs:mw, nfs:u2, nfs:carbon and likely undercover use the same engine and even the offsets are in the same part of ... |

| I'd say it as 'game crashed because of a dying gpu' though. Titan Quest is fun albeit crashes constantly. I especially enjoyed the 'punch mobs into the clouds' wacked out physics. | Yeah, that's pretty much how I read em too, and if it wasn't for the constant hard lockups that happen whenever physx is enabled (on 8400 or 8800s) I'd leave it set on the 8400. | Well my results just seem totally off. I mean, 60% for the same physx on 2 8800 vs 1-5% for one 8400GS just doesn't fit. I don't know what exactly the choice of the 8800ultra means either, is it that it only lists the 2nd 8800 as in dedicate one of the 2 to sli or if it considers both as one 8800 in... |

| Hmm, guess I should've verified it before posting it from memory, I just redid em and the results aren't what I remembered: physx disabled: ~50% cpu use, ~10fps physx on 8400GS: 1-5% cpu use, ~10fps physx on 8800Ultra/sli: ~60% cpu use, 60fps (capped by vsync) So that leaves me to think even if flui... |

| True, but it is doing the exact same performance as a 3ghz core 2 duo though. So, I guess while it won't improve physx performance, it'll free up about 45% of the cpu for something else, and that'll likely help since that'd be 90% of the first core for single-threaded titles (aka, most games). | Yes thanks Edward, it's flashed to latest. So far looks like a case of 64bit being touchy. Under 32bit it works with 8 drives in raid 0 and serving files. Only issue I've had is copying some files over from the current server, it kept saying things like invalid filenames and other errors, try again ... |

| That's the one I've used to date, I've tried using the other stick so unless there's a common mis-contact or both are defective, it's not a ram problem. | During these tests, are all the 500G drives powered? (PSU) As far as I can tell yes. Problem happens without them plugged into controller so I don't think they have a say in the crash. Were you using the same rated PSU in both motherboards? (PSU) Tried both psu in both motherboards Did the processor... |
