Who's to say it wasn't under vista?

Regardless, help how you want, I help as I see fit.

Maybe you could contact the person behind those omegadrive ati drivers, a wizard at modding .infs for drivers from what I've seen, maybe could tell what/why those don't fully work.

Actually softth works with 2 monitors, have to set either left or right to something like -1 or disabled for it's ID or something. And make sure that on 2 monitors you're using, the center is primary in control panel. Spanning might work, but if you're in vista, the option isn't there Dem Pyros.

Just a shot in the dark here but: As far as I know a monitor driver is only 1 .inf file so maybe you could copy the .inf from a known working res. gxm install. Uninstall that version. Install latest version of GXM with latest known working video drivers and use the .inf copied instead of one include...

What's the GXM's purpose anyways? just to pre-edit some games so they support TH or something more?

Does it matter? the WHQL versions aren't exactly stable or bug free. I even have to un-WHQL em just to install em on my laptop since they rarely bother to add mobile variants of the same chipsets.

Well, most of my slow downs seem to be text related, so I'll try the font fix. I know this because whenever exp. or quest text or open an interface it slows down quite a bit. Easy to test by toggling the bottom icon bar.

Thanks paddy.

Hi Paddy the Wak,

I missed this thread before making my own over at
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=142377
if you'd point me towards any useful tweaks you might have, I'd be grateful, I'm not even triple screen and the game is unplayable as it is.

Performance was identical by smb, ftp and even a local web server. And all pcs are gigabit not 100mbit nics. I've tried all driver revisions I found under xp, all identical in performance. The only thing I found is that some had fewer transmit and/or receive buffer with had a very small impact on tr...

Can't do that, all my tests so far indicate that if anything is something other then vista performance drops severely. I've tested with linux, xp and vista. Whenever a client or server is something other than vista, transfers cap at about 100mbit speeds. Right now I'm thinking of replacing the stock...

I found the cause, though the why eludes me. I had chosen 'large fonts' since in 1920x1080 the normal text is tiny. Without it server text is fine. Of course I tried it again after you switched it to chapter 1 so who knows. And it seemed pointless to me, just running round to already killed mobs and...

I'm in the process of building a file server (no, not that kind, you naughty boy you ;) ). Since I've sworn off SATA drives from lack of solid connectors. I'm stuck using 500gb WD WD5000AAKB drives. I'm aiming for 4TB, 4 times my current capacity. That means I need 8 storage drives, plus the existin...

When I say 'get' I mean buying a box of a game I now own that even decades from now when the companies servers are dust I can still install from a physical medium and play at my convenience on any pc I own.

Steam is no better than the thousands of viruses on the net as we speak.

I couldn't install it somewhere else at all. Says I didn't have permission to put it in the games folder where I've installed every other game or demo I have. I had to install it to program files then copy it over and manually reinstall the 2 fonts and it still didn't use them. It fails on 2 points,...

Yeah it is, even requires a reboot to clear the fonts of use so you can delete them after the game's uninstall fails to do so, both sacred1 and 2 are like that. I applaud their use of built-in windows fonts rather then bitmaps or the likes. But they fail in how they use it. I don't and never will in...

I found it amusing, mostly because I tried the sacred 1 demo right before. Not only did they fail to make a better game (the graphics are barely a notch above) but they also made an enjoyable one into a tedious battle against a poorly designed camera. It ran great on my rig at 1920x1080 but that's m...
