As long as the card is dvi-I (analog+digital) you can use the dvi/svga adapter, I've yet to see any video card that has dvi-d and not work with the adapter. Unless ati/amd really screws the design, it should have dvi-i. As for 24"/dual-link, it's more based on resolution than size, like a 23" 2048 x... |

...this short term fix could be a long term fix if only manufacturers got a reliable way to remove bezels or make them As I see it the 'it must be flatter/thiner' craze is why we're stuck with large bezels. If they had concentrated on make less bezels instead of how thin the screen is, by now we'd ... |

So far I've yet to see a single game that has any benefit from sli. Benchmarks sure but those aren't useful for anyone except bragging rights fanatics. Right now I'd like some way to patch in the 2nd cards vram to the first so it increases the total. That way I'd have 1536mb of vram to make gta4 hap... |

DisplayPort outputs are required to be used, however active adapters can also be used convert >2 "legacy" outputs to other display output types. So, with an active DP-to-DVI or active DP-to-VGA those other display input types can be used. So for anyone that wants something other than native display... |

[quote]...
would like to answer but it's a post that will carry away from the subject which is eyefinity
Then I guess an op could move the reply to a new thread, seemed appropriate to me here seeing as eyefinity is part of the next gen for ati. |

Maybe I'm just jaded to the lack of content many promises from both ati and nvidia ended up getting in real-use (who here remembers tessalation, bonus points for an actual game use of it). Right now my stance is that my next gpu is most likely to be from Intel. It could be wishful thinking to have s... |

All those ati demos, were they done with or without AA?
if it's without or even just 2x, it's not really that impressive. |

Apparently it's physically long, I just hope it ain't gonna start a 11inch trend or something, it's enough that 10in ultras don't fit most cases I look at. |

nvidia already has something but has limited it to their quadroplex stuff, they could just port it over to the high end GT300's or something. |

So if I understand correctly, you tried to use a single-link dvi cable you had instead of the dual-link dvi cable matrox specifically provides since otherwise the problem you encountered shows up? |

well take a wild guess nvidia new drivers fixed the problem old drivers are the shit ty all for the HELP Depends for what, I used to be able to fix the 'test failed' crap by putting in a standard res. instead of native, not only has the test failed not been fixed in the 190.x versions but they actu... |

This is likely due to the fact that the MP part of the game uses OGL (basically an updated ET:QW engine). SP uses D3D for the video.
I don't get it, wouldn't having both OGL and D3D parts in one game like double development on it? why would they do such a thing? |

My 8800's and I think same goes for 9800's and gtx x's the coolers are just about silent. I'd rather pay a company that designs proper instead of buying an after market cooler I can't use when I replace the card, and with gpus being the part you replace most often, it's tiresome. I went from ati to ... |

Personnally I try to ignore such leaks. That small fan vent breaks any possibility of the cooler not being a dust-buster level ear-bleeder.
Besides, prototypes and tech. samples are not necessarly same as the final product. |

ATI and other brand cards already use proprietary connector to 2+ dvi/hdmi/whatever, like for example on their workstation cards to have a low profile card with 4 outputs. I have one here from HP that's a 8400GS with 2 outputs with a 1 connector/2svga outputs dongle. You have the 1st slot with 2 out... |

Even without it being th2g related and perhaps because my cards are a couple revisions old but to me no driver past 17x.x or so has brought anything major. And they're up to 190.x now. About the only thing they added is 'multi-monitor sli' and that's about pointless since beyond saying sli is enable... |

I'm gonna hazard a guess that it's a marketing spin on 'this card can use 3 screen at the same time'. No 3d, not game-friendly, it can just display 3 parts of the desktop at once. A bit like 3 circa 1998 pci video cards can ... |

If games supported multiple monitors natively like those 2 do you could make things so it wouldn't be poorly split. Such as maps/inventory on one and the play view on the other for games such as WoW. |
