Tamlin mod edit: We don't support piracy and have locked (and removed) many threads and posts due to such. People can refuse buying a game, but that doesn't justify stealing it. Awesome, thanks. Also, thanks for not stifling dissenting opinion (like it seems mine is). It's nice having a forum on the... |

It's like, we designed our game for the original 16:9 display, then when those new spiffy 4:3 "tall-screen" displays became popular, we decided to increase the vertical FOV so the people who spent their hard earned cash on this new 4:3 "tall-screen" technology don't get mad that they don't gain any ... |

I wonder how many people here would be this upset if the 4:3 version was simply the widescreen viewport, complete with letterboxing (which IMO is what they should have done). Something tells me no one here would be upset...and yet the widescreen viewport wouldn't have changed a bit. Oh, and I'd just... |

Please provide a link to where it says it was deliberately chosen.
Well, I did say "if". :-)
And I'll let the developers speak for themselves. It's certainly not my place to publicly quote anyone that I've talked to about it. |

I was going to say the same thing and even offer some data to back up what I said (something he fails to do every time he posts). Here's some data for you: Xbox 360 development requires you to use a 16:9 720p framebuffer (or a 1080p framebuffer, but few do that). All 360 development is inherently wi... |

cornbread....Why is it vomit inducing then? Because the FOV might be tighter than you'd like. As I've said, if you don't like the FOV they've chosen, that's fine, and I very well may end up agreeing with you. Didn't really bother me in the demo, but it might for longer playsessions. We'll see. But ... |

There is no need to theorize on what is "almost certainly isn't the case". Just look at the facts that are available or test it for yourself and give people some evidence, not what you personally feel they couldn't possibly have done (based on NOTHING). Seriously, stop with the crap. It just makes l... |

That's totally a misleading screenshot though. It implies that the game was built for 4:3 and modified for widescreen, which almost certainly isn't the case. It also implies that you're seeing a lower-resolution version, when in fact you're seeing more pixels than a comparable 4:3 display. They open... |

with this game, you see less, in same detail, and a distorted POV No, you don't. Compare a 960x720 screen with a 1280x720 widescreen shot, and you'll see MORE. There are more pixels, and what you're seeing is in greater detail. There's no distorted POV, the projection is just done to maintain a cons... |

I don't see the issue. If the game was developed 16:9 (which I'm sure it was), then the shipping 16:9 FOV is what they intended, and the 4:3 version is simply "vert+", in the nomenclature of this forum. It's not unlike Super35 in film, where the 4:3 version often has more information on the top an b... |
