I have a query please , and it's actually more to do with scaling than using the widescreen hack . I play Kotor and Kotor 2 on my 1920 x 1080 monitor using a standard 4:3 ratio upscaled ( normally 1280 by 960 ) but I just experimented with the 1600 by 1200 in screen res option and that displays fine...

I think they should keep regenerating health for easy skill levels and make you use health packs for hard skill levels , problem solved . Games like Sims 1 can be played on a laptop , and the Sims 2 spin off games like Castaway Stories and the other Sims 2 ' stories ' games are actually built for laptop play . Some of the older championship manager games can be played on laptop too . You're probably better off looking at 2nd hand game...
