This is normal behaviour. Memory clock switching is done within a VBLANK timing of the monitor, so you do no notice the clock changes; in multi-panel scenarios the panels are likely to have different timings so they will have different VBLANK times in which case if you did switch memory then you wou...

FYI - we have implemented a new Crossfire X power mechanism in one of the recent drivers, whereby the "slave" boards in a Crossfire setup exist in a deeper ACPI sleep state at the desktop in order to save power; they only "wake up" when a.) Crossfire X is actually enabled and b.) when a game comes o...

True dat. But, regardless of avail GPU power (like in Crossfire), if you overrun that framebuffer - you're down into the single digits for FPS. Thats not, strictly speaking, true. Texture mangement schemes are quite sphisticated in how they handle being addressed from system RAM and it not an "all ...

As mentioned in the other thread, the profile fix will be available in a couple of months. It hasn't been a couple of months since that was stated.

As you can see, the 5970 drops from 113 to 72 fps. And, according to this article http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,699998/Dirt-2-DirectX-9-vs-DirectX-11-graphics-compared-Update-New-comparisons/Practice/ (and my own observations), it's virtually impossible to see the difference between DX9 and DX...

Dave Baumann would you happen to have a BIOS I could try flashing to a 5750? I have no fear of bricking it.

What BIOS revision do yo have currently? You can check the revision of BIOS under the "Graphics Hardware" tab of the "Information Center" option of Catalyst Control Center.

1 - AA in Empire: Total War? Going to be implemented at some point? I hear it's just a bug of some sort. Sorry, I'm not familiar with that one. Can you give me some more details? 2 - Performance issues in NFS: Shift? What a great game, and what a horrible job they did ensuring it would run OK on AT...

Hi Dave, have any new games been added to the whitelist of games that work with Eyefinity and Crossfire? Is there a site where this list is updated? Thanks! In truth my software oriented buddies surprised me with this. I do not know if these drivers are using the White List or Black List. I’m OoO f...

You may want to take note of the image in this Eyefinity report: http://techreport.com/discussions.x/17563 Yes, thats 6 Dell 3008's being powered by a single HD 5870 Eyefinity6 board. The 5970 supported 2560x1600 on all the outputs, and as the 3008 has a native DisplayPort input you can run the 3007...

So far the discussions have centered around having a list of single panel resolutions in CCC that the user can select from and the "middle resolution" will be taken as a multiple of these.

No, this is not "laziness" but issues with the way Windows does stuff. As mentioned in the other thread.

There is issues with the way Windows enumerates devices and how the grouping works - we've found cases where, if we to enumerate all the potential Eyefinity display configurations it can take up to 5 minutes! Because of this, and the fact that there was no way around it, Eyefinity resolutions were r...

I just hope all these 5xxx sales will mean you ATI folks don't take so much time releasing future drivers. It's been my only gripe with ATI over the years. For those that are not familiar with AMD graphics, we have a monthly driver release schedule - the Catalyst driver releases are number accordin...

Nice post a4mula, we take the feedback on board. And to the point of telling people about Eyefinity we acknowledge that the documentation we have on AMD.com is limited at the moment, however in the new year we will be launching a new site dedicated to Eyefinity. On this site we'll cover more of the ...
