So in the projector setup I'm building I can use 2 passive single-link dp to dvi adapter and 3 active dp to dvi adapter to achieve my goal of 5 DVI based displays? That should work. IIRC - we have heard about one vendor interested in a single link active adapter which should be cheaper than then ac...

So do we have any confirmation that the Apple mini-dp to dvi is the problem adapter? I'm hoping the Dell/BizLink which most of WSGF bought is ok. Besides it's the one shown in the demo day pics. As far as I'm aware Kyle is using the Apple adapter - we have validated that this works on the Eyefinity...

Will we be able to buy DP+ boards in the future? The largest stumbling block for all of us is we're a pre-existing userbase with pre-existing displays that are predominantly DVI or HDMI. Right now I'm sitting on 4 Samsung 245BW wondering what to do about adapters. A selling point for EyeFinity shou...

Besides my previous post, I was also wondering if you were considering to operate with virtual resolutions? Meaning, if I were to connect 2x 1680x1050 screens as satelites with a 1920x1200 as center screen, with a virtual resolution, the game will be rendered as with 3 1920x1200 screens (5760x1200)...

For those who don't know (or read profiles), Dave Baumann is Product Manager, AMD Graphics Division. :) PM for the HD 5800 and 4800 series to be more specific. :) Are we talking here about an upgrade to the card itself or via drivers? Actually, in that instance I was referencing the HD 5850. On ano...

Btw thanks for posting again in these forums. Hey, I intend to stick around for a while yet - posting may be infrequent as things are (as I'm sure you'll understand) crazy busy right now. :) I intend to stress to a few more internally that they keep an eye on things here - I think there is going to...

The ATI route for Triplehead is becoming very expensive for anyone looking to upgrade.

Bear in mind you've not seen the whole of the HD 5800 story at the moment. :)

BTW: I hope they come out with bezel managment soon.

That is the next major priority for the software support for Eyefinity.

At this point passive adapters don't work. Don't buy one for Eyefinity purposes All they do is carry on an existing DVI video stream. The secret to the sauce is allowing the DisplayPort to be a DisplayPort by coupling it to a authentic DisplayPort device. And a DisplayPort device has DisplayPort el...

Hey Ibrin? Why didn't we get a card? we got invited to the opening but no card? I demand complaining to ATI to commence! Don't worry - personally, I conly became aware of this forum after someone posted a link to it in some Eyefinity discussions. I after that there's no way we couldn't get a card h...

So for anyone that wants something other than native display port displays you'll need a 150$+ powered transcoder box per output? Seems awfully bad design to me considering how little widespread displayport is. Well, frankly speaking, this wouldn't be cost effective to do if it wasn't for DisplayPo...

DX enumerates the displays that the display drivers are telling the OS the display and graphics board supports. Once a Display Group in configured in CCC the driver reports to the OS the available Display Group resolutions and then DX can pick that up.

DisplayPort outputs are required to be used, however active adapters can also be used convert >2 "legacy" outputs to other display output types. So, with an active DP-to-DVI or active DP-to-VGA those other display input types can be used.
