No not considering the hydra anymore... now I am considering a good mobo that I can go trifire with, however the mobo has to fit an lga 775 socket and use my ddr2 1066 ram, cause I dont wanna rebuy ram and a processor

Well this really sucks, I guess we all did not think the demand for the 5870s and attachments would be what they are. Its good and bad for ati though, cause nothing worse than not being able to sell a product you dont have to sell! I ordered the dell attachment yesterday, and have not received the e...

[H]ardOcp ran 3 x 30" off a 5850:http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1461673 So I assume that a 5870 should be able to run your setup. There is no question that it will run my setup. The question is can I get away with ONLY USING 1 CARD to run SoftTH! SoftTH specifies two graphics cards, but ...

Don't know if one 5870 would be enough, but if you plan to stick to your PLP configuration I would wait and see how Nvidia's Fermi turns out. It is expected to be faster than the 5870 and you could keep one of your 8800s as the secondary card, or go for a dual core and use one card. There may also ...

Can one 5870 power three monitors on SoftTH or do I need to pick up a second graphics card. I am running an oddball 20x30x20 PxLxP monitor configuration that eyefinity will not support and I use SoftTH to play my flight sims at 4960x1600 resolution. Currently I am running two 8800 ultras in non-sli ...

In preparation for the 5870x2 I am considering a whole new build. Basically, I am looking at getting the MSI big bang Mobo and If I do that I gotta get new ram and a new processor. Currently I am running an EVGA 750i FTW with 8 gigs of ram and a q6700 Ocd to 3.6ghz on water. So I am considering the ...

Subtle. Very subtle. :P But funny. 8) I do like the idea of PLP, but ultimately AMD (ATi) have to prioritise something above what is arguably a 'niche' option right now. Once EyeFinity is more widely adopted, then the niche is bigger. Kinda like PLP for TripleHead2Go. :) Lol, thanks paradigm! Yea, ...

I spot a Logitech G940 too... :D Does look good! Am going with 3 x U2410's though myself, can't afford to put so much into one display only (however nice a 30" does look) plus 1600x1200 panels seem to be getting very rare to match up with them. Yeap, the G940 is fantastic! I got rid of my CH gear a...

Now I know that the developers are on the fence with eyefinity supporting portrait x landscape x portrait, but comon..... look at how ideal it is to have that nice 30" flanked by two 20"s in portrait. You get the awesome vertical height and you don't have it too wide on the sides of your peripheral ...

I think what angers me the most is that ATI don't decide on what role EF should play. On the one hand, they promote it as THE gaming revolution, offering triple head gaming to a larger user group. EF = something special. On the other hand, they reduce it to a mere bonus to the card, "don't blame us...

Well I certainly apologize about the imbicle comment, but I am a bit emotional on the subject. Having a sweet setup like I have, you can certainly see where I would get upset when somebody tells me its redundant! I understand. I usually fly into murderous rages when people make fun of my mailbox. l...

[quote]If Eyefinity aims at lowering the entry barrier for triple screen gaming then the ability to mix and match resolutions and orientations is important I would think. At the SoftTH forum you can find people using all kinds of combinations of monitors, often simply because they had them sitting ...

I too am running a 20" portrait x 30" landscape x 20" portrait configuration and pray that they FIX eyefinity to accomodate this. Think about it, most of your enthusiasts buy high end cards to push hi resolution screens and a TON of enthusiasts like me already have a 2560x1600 screen and don't wanna...
