The most straightforward answer that comes to mind (but cumbersome) would be to make two separate INF files, one with 1680 x 1050 as your max res and another with 1920 x 1200; but a reboot would be required before every switch between resolutions. From what Dave Baumann has indicated regarding the m... |

Kondor999, guess I'll have to eat my words - great guide and screenshots here! Glad you finally got it working; I apologize for veiled comments regarding complainers :D Regardless, thanks for adding and refining to this method, hopefully for every person who posts a success here 10 people are readin... |

Hi Oskar, Just saw your post on this thread. Well, first off, Eyefinity is exclusive to ATI 5xxx series cards (5750, 5770, 5850, 5870, 5970 etc). You're using Nvidia cards which haven't even dreamed of supporting something like this in hardware.... so that'd be your first problem. Unless you are run... |

Hey Sideeffect, thanks for all your input and help to others in terms of getting to grips with this wonderful new technology's minor teething issues. I'm amazed and thankful every day when I start up Windows 7 and my 2 T221's display at full res/refresh thanks to Eyefinity + the EDID hack. I have be... |

Hey Sideeffect, thanks so much for posting all those useful screenshots! I was trying to get around to it but looks like you beat me to it :) Again, thanks to ATI's engineers for solving a problem that's plagued us since Vista - I'm unspeakably grateful (unlike many who just complain on these forums... |

Someone suggested that I post this approach/technique as a fresh post - perhaps if enough people find it useful it should be stickied by the mods. I have seen many people asking for custom resolutions in Eyefinity groups or complaining that certain resolutions aren't available (I was one of them wit... |

Thanks Sideeffect! Great point - the EDID override method is known in audiovisual circles to get proper refresh rates with projectors and such on NVIDIA cards but have not heard it talked about here - I'm glad you benefited from it!! I'll try and make a new post today as time allows. Yeang Excellent... |

For those who are interested, I found my own solution to the problem I had posted 1 page ago regarding getting the awesome T221-DG5 ultra-high resolution monitor to work at 3840x2400@48Hz in Win7 using Eyefinity. I posted my solution in the main Eyefinity section under my other post - in the interes... |

So, I solved my own problem with the T221-DG5 stripes and Eyefinity! Hallelujah! Here's how for those who are interested: I literally cried out loud when I saw the magical full desktop at 3840x2400@ 48Hz! Took quite a bit of fiddling but here's how I did it. Briefly, I used the EDID override approac... |

Hi all! I posted this in the Dave + Sunsp*t thread but would also like to get opinions and advice from the rest of you. So here's my situation: I use two IBM T221-DG5 ultra-high res monitors for my work. Each panel is 3840 x 2400, a resolution still unmatched in the sub $40,000 category, and takes t... |

Hi there guys. Thanks again for this wonderful thing called Eyefinity - I have the greatest hopes for it for a specific non-gaming purpose that has confined me to XP for the last 7 years or so (due to the lack of horizontal spanning in Vista/Win7). I use two IBM T221-DG5 ultra-high res monitors for ... |

Hi Bandito, Whismerhill etc, thanks for chiming in regarding my problem. Yes, the 1920x2400 stripes @ 48Hz have to be dual-link connections, so I'll need active adapters if the SIX is involved. I actually did post a longer version of this question on that long "Is Displayport monitor required..." th... |

Hi all, esp to Dave and Sunspot. Just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for developing Eyeinfinity - it has the potential to solve my ultra-high resolution monitor issues that have locked me into WinXP as my OS for the last x years. Hey, thanks again for the input. The reason I need SLS for 2D productivity is the way Photoshop/Bridge/Capture One etc behave - I guess I could run windowed but the Photoshop full screen mode (F-key) screws up if I have it stretched to cover two separate monitors. Well, I think I'll bite the bullet ... |

Yeah, but I'm worried about supply issues like the 58xx series. Let's hope so. Two last questions: 1) have you actually tried 4 monitors with 2 cards, only grouping the 2 monitors on each card together, and 2) do you know for a fact that two separate Eyefinity groups are not possible? I'm sure you k... |

Thanks for the reply, BHawthorne. That's a bummer if it is true. I'd understand if you couldn't bridge cards for a single surface, but the least I'm hoping for is for two surfaces, each on its on card. To clarify, 2 groups of two monitors, each on its own card: group A on card A with 2 x 1920x2400 o... |

Hi all! My apologies if part of this is similar to a post on the Dave/Sunsp*t EF thread I posted not too long ago, but I had a quick question for those of you with 2 58xx or 57xx cards and hopefully 4 monitors. I need (for 2D desktop issues) to have 2 Eyefinity groups with 2 monitors in each group. ... |
