As a added bonus for participating in the Triple Stand Giveaway we have decided to give three additional winners who have posted in this thread a Cricket Laptop Stand. Winners were chosen at random and if you see your name below please email [email protected] with subject "Cricket Laptop Stand Winner" and your ship to information.

Dem Pyros
Leapo
Abram

Oh wow, that's very kind of you guys.

Unfortunately my laptop has recently bit the dust (as you can see by this thread), so I'm afraid that I have no need for one of these stands. Hopefully you can give it to someone who will put it to better use.

Merry Christmas!

Had a day with no wife and kids today so I took advantage of that and tore into my setup and got the stand put in today. It was an all day event.

I took a few little video clips as I went with my Vado HD and am trying to make a little "preview" video that I will put on youtube to show the before/after.

I plan on doing a full review of the stand in 2 weeks time or after.

Having some issues with the Vado video not opening in any of my video editors but will try to get that up soon.

I only got to have it setup for about an hour before I had to leave for work, such a bad feeling, its like opening your Christmas presents as a kid and then being ripped away from them to go to grandmas house or something.

I have been sick as a dog for the last week, I should have probably gotten some sleep to get better but I just had to do it today :D

Hahah "Half-Life crowbar". The hinges are standard; it's the telescoping arms that's the bonus you got. Lucky boy.

Now I'm pining even more for mine. Apparently they have more in stock now, so with some luck mine will be off and away shortly. And hearing that it's about 30lbs makes me wonder if my current, dinky little Ikea desk will be able to support that my three displays...

I over exaggerated its not 30lbs, but it is heavy.

My desk is only 3/4" MDF but I do have a brace on the wall and its near one of the supports on the left side.

Im sure stability is not the only reason the base is so big its also for the reasons of distributing the weight to a larger surface area so that a normal desk wont give way.

The other thing to take to mind is while the stand is heavy, and your current 3 monitors are also very heavy.

You will be taking off the stands on the current 3 monitors. In the case of my U24010's the stands were actually about half the weight to the monitor it felt like, so the new stand is holding only like 2 monitors worth of weight compared to before, add back in the weight of the new stand itself and its probably back to about the same amount of weight overall on the desk, but its not more so than before thanks to the old stands being gone.

It wont be pretty but if your worried I considered getting another sheet of wood to lay across the desk where the stand would be to brace things. It looks pretty solid to me right now so I am not going to bother, but if it was in the center of my desk without supports near by I would do that.

I looked, and the weight is listed as 26.x pounds. Varies by site. But hey, it's good that it's heavy. I reca rading somewhere that the base is heavy and wide enough to support a single monitor on one far side.

.. not that I'll try that.
