i talked to the guy on the floor in the ea section about bf2 and bf2142. he said that bf 2142 will support widescreen and heard that has been a big issue with gamers. he even mentioned that they are possibly working on a patch to update bf2 to support widescreen. : ) <- i hope thats true.

"possibly" is good, but not good enough. :p

I'll still buy Battlefield 2 now if they add widescreen support, but if they wait until EQ:QW is out, the Battlefield franchise will be over for me.

Battlefield 2142 really interests me as a game, but i think that for widescreen gamers everywhere it'll be be really important that it does support w/s.
I am reasonably tech literate (although i dont work in the business i am known at my work as 'the computer guy') and have been able to problem solve most widescreen issues with large thanks to this site.

That said, widescreen gaming shouldn't have to be problem solved, it ought to be as difficult as console gaming (ie not at all).

The more natively-supported games, especially big sellers like this will be, that do it out of the box the better for all of us.

Too little, too late EA... talk is cheap, and you've had years to give us widescreen. The EA Boycott remains.

I think EA will have to give in and support widescreen. Widescreen monitors are just getting too popular now, and they'll be annoying quite a large chunk of the market if they continue to ignore them any longer!!

Besides, widescreen should be easy to implement, they have to develop 16:9 solutions for thr 360 anyway, so correct FOV and widescreen resolutions should be easy!

Just been reading an interview about battlefield 2142, and quote the following:
We have learned that we need to communicate much more with the community and address the items they have issues with. This organization is built up around the 2142 project and is going to be prepared and ready when we launch.

What do you think?

Guys, I am guessing none of you are EA haters? Too bad...

They have just pulled too much shit with the BF series and empty promises.

I *might* buy BF2142 a few months after release if it doesn't suck exponentially, but I would rather stick with the mod scene for BF2.

For example, Point of Existence and Forgotten Hope2, they will be better than 2142, I hope you all realize this. :P

Well, I guess this is a plus if I ever decide to pick it up! :)
