Don't know if any of you played sof2 but now they are coming out with a sof3 this game though is not supported on the quake engine it is something of a mystery. I guess they do a pre release early next month. I am guessing it is going to take alot of half life players away from half life.

Awesome! I really liked the original Soldier of Fortune, though i found the second one to be pretty disappointing.

The train level on the first one was really amazing for the time :).

Unfortunately it's been banned here in Australia :( Stupid OFLC, when will they realise that most people who play video games nowadays aren't 13 years old. Still, I can only hope that the ban gets turned over soon.

Yeah, I'm quite looking forward to SoF3.

2 was pants, but SoF1 was very, very impressive for the time it was released. The location damage model in that game was gory, a little OTT, but still head and shoulders above a lot of the stuff that has come after.

The LDM in SoF2 was terrible, though; they spent too much time on the head and not enough time on the rest. I mean, sure, being able to carve someone's head into twenty different chunks with a combat knife was just... pointlessly extreme.

I loved how you could either take down a helicopter with crap loads of ammo, or just 'headshot' the pilot. :D

i heard SoF3 turned out pretty dissapointing :(. Alot of SoF2 players were dissapointed with it and the reviews i've seen are pretty average or negative .

I loved SoF1 too, i spent years on SoF2 multiplayer (disliked the sp though) and it was great, the first game i spent a year or two on in multiplayer :)

Yes, it's a huge rip-off load of shite of a game.

It's ALL wrong. Doesn't even have John Mullins. The only thing good i can say is that it LOOKS kinda niec, before you see teh glitches, poor modeling, bad AI, shit story, lame arsenal, poor performance, lackluster level design, poor sound.. teh list goes on.

AND it's priced at at full retail price - 50 to 60 dollars.

I pre-ordered it because i loved the other two so much, but luckily i got release a week later here in Canada and I downlaoded it to pass teh week. That decision saved me from getting ripped-off.

Oh well.

Well I was excited about this title when I saw the HD trailers, but now I'm wondering if it will just be yet another overhyped game like Bioshock, MoH: Airborne and even Crysis appears to be a bit of a let down. Seems the only rock solid choices lately are CoD4 and Assassin's Creed.
