If only that was the case... but at least on your end, you've found a solution, somewhat. Next step now is to find a replacement RAM and rerun it.

Try Disabling on board sound ( if you have a sound card) the realtek on board sound and BFBC2 don't play nice with one another. I still CTD on my system but a lot less often now that I turned off my on board sound in my bios. Other people say to turn down the sound quality in game but I'm not willing to do that myself Good luck.
