Another Bit-Techer? ;) Not registered there myself (yet) but I tend to spend some time there reading... :)

S.T.A.L.K.E.R doesn't sound promising at the minute. I think if it is released it's going to have so many bugs that it'll not be worth buying... a real shame. :(

If it ever does get released, it will have to go into the "value bin" considering how outdated that engine is....

Your so right, this game was state of the art a year ago.
Now it's just another ordinary game.
What a waste of a good concept. :(

That reminded me of the never ending story of Duke Nukem Forever. It was hyped for several years.

Correct, and from the last thing i heard they are still working on it.
I guess what kind of crap that one is going to be.
Another waste of a good concept. :( :(

I have more hope for Duke Nukem Forever than for STALKER...

If they manage to put the sheer fun factor that DN3D had in it, in DNF, then it might survive... remember, the Build Engine wasn't exactly state of the art, and it was facing up against Quake, which was at the time.

The old screenshots floating around are very out of date - don't forget that. 3D Realms had a total info lockdown on this game - anything you've heard is simply rumour. Because of this, I wouldn't be surprised if it quietly slips on to shelves without a lot of people even noticing.

While I think having the F.E.A.R or Doom 3 engines behind it (or Unreal engine, be it in it's 2004 guise or it's 2007 guise) might be nice, they'll probably detract from the overall experience.

Shame, it looked like it could be a pretty cool game.

Really though, were HL2's graphics that great when it was released? They were good, but i really think Doom3 had the edge graphics wise (and HL2 has some very dodgy bits in it). Graphics dont make a game, but i admint they do add a lot to it.

Well, i liked the graphics of HL2 way more then the dark Doom graphics.
HL2 was way more lively and fun to play and it also ran way better on my machine.
I don't like games where you can hardly see where you are going.
I probable didn't like Quake 4 because of that too.
