I saw the lists of compatibility and whatnot, which are great, but what are some of the really "oh wow" games to play on WS? I have HL2, which is awesome, and WoW which is decent. What else should I look into, particularly "older" games that I can get on the cheap?

Did you look at the "list of games by grade" page?

Yeah, but I'm looking more for opinion here. Not so much which ones take advantage of the WS so much as the ones people personally see as "must plays" on WS.

Oblivion. That game is DESIGNED for widescreen displays. To me, the view feels a little cramped on a non-WS screen when holding a sword and torch compared to a widescreen display. It really does seem to make a difference once you get the larger view space.

Older games? How old? You can get the original Deus Ex game to run in WS if you want, same as a lot of Unreal games.

I won't repeat games already mentioned, so this might seem a little odd as lists go...

NeverWinter Nights (Deluxe with the two official addons)
Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines
Deus Ex
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Ground Control II: Operation Exodus
Hitman: Blood Money
Red Alert 2
Unreal Tournament 2004
Civilization III
Civilization IV
