I currently have a Viewsonic 20" LCD VP2030b and im thinking about selling it up and picking up a used Dell 20" widescreen.

My current system specs are below in my signature.

The games I normally play are:

DiRT
World Of Warcraft
Battlefield 2
Half-Life 2
Counter-Strike

A while back I got to play CS on a 23" Apple and i loved the advantage it gave me. But I am unsure if I am going to need to upgrade any hardware.

Now most games I play I am able to play @ 1280x1024 or 1600x1200.

So playing games at 1680x1050 shouldnt be as a hard on my system since there is a lesser amount of pixels then 1600x1200.

After the new hardware refresh I will be planning on upgrading to dual AMD Quads and PCI-e2 cards when the time comes. At that time I will be looking into Surround Gaming.

i find that even having less pixels then 1600x1200
1680x1050 performs like 1600x1200 since you tend to have more to render to the sides

your PC looks good for the most part if you can play DiRT at 1600x1200 at good settings for you then your all set

but a 8800GTS 640MB card might be a good idea if you have the money for it
the 320MB is getting to be to little ram for new games now

the only game in your list you may have an issue with is BF2 but there is a hack that will work on line in the works for that

I wish i could play Dirt @ 1600x1200

On some of the races i have issues @ 1024*768

With most turned up, I tend to try to find a nice blend between graphics settings and resolution.

I dont wanna play my games at high res if i have to turn everything down.

Another 7900gtx might help in sli, if you don't have it already. I know the 7900gtx was faster in SLI than one 7950gx2 in most games according to reviews i read, just to give you a comparison.

Go for it! You'll never look back. Check my specs in my sig - I run all games at 1680x1050, haven't had any real issues at all. Currently playing Bioshock at same res, plays great.

Now if I can just kill that fookin' Big Daddy...
