Hi,

I have installed onto FS9 my new th2go that I received for christmas and although the FOV is terrific the 2D panel is stretched so much that all the round dials on the instrument panel are ellipses and hardly useable.

I've always flown using a 2D panel and would like to continue that way. So my question is, is it possible to have a normal 2D instrument panel on my airplane and still have a wide field of view or must I go to a virtual cockpit?

In the virtual cockpit mode the display is just perfect. The FOV is wide alright and the instrument panel is what I'd call normal or the same width as a 2D panel.

I'd love to know the answer I'm asking so I can stop fooling around trying to correct something that can't be fixed and go on to VC if that is to be. I know many say the VC is best so if I can get used to it I won't be losing anything.

I'm using 3-19 in Hundai monitors with a digital th2go connected to the analog monitors with the proper adapters. My display card is a ATI Radeon 5770HD. My CPU is an intel quad core i7-870. 8GB of RAM is by G. Skil.

Thanks,

Russ

If I remember correctly, the 2D display was known to have problems with Surround/TrackIR. Virtual cockpit was the solution/workaround I saw, which tallies with your experiences.

Given the vast amounts of addons/mods for FSX etc, it might be feasible to manually edit the 2D cockpits so they look correct, but I'd have no idea how to go about that...

Oh, and I moved this thread to a more appropriate forum than Hello. ;)
