I finaly got final fantasy 7 and windows vista to work together. I havent tried the races yet so I am not to sure if it will work to. I guess I will find out when I get there.
Get everything here you need to run it http://thegamingextra.wordpress.com/2008/01/26/playing-final-fantasy-vii-on-windows-vista/. I got to the motor cycle race and it worked. So I am thinking that the choco races will work to. I forced vsync on so it will keep the speed resonable. Hmm maybe it needs my gtx 470 in SLI to LOL.
