Hello there,

Anyone know if a proper wiki (or similar site) about how to make work older Windows games (1996~2005) on modern PC has ever been considered ?

Even if many games are available on Steam or GOG these days i think it must be sometime a pain to find patches or fixes to make old game work on Win7(or 8) when you own the original discs. (games with sound problems, 16 bits installer problems...).

DOSBox is definitively the way to go for DOS games, but for Win95~XP games you somtime have to find some unofficial patch/fixe here and here. boards (but the post may be deleted a day eventually), blogs...

I'm not aware of any site/wiki specialized in this field... SO YOU SHOULD TOTALLY START ONE

Googling "how to run xxx in Vista" is always a good start - even if you wouldn't touch this particular OS with a 10-foot, uh, mouse.
ModDB hosts some useful fixes. The GOG forums have a lot of good stuff, too.

Thank you
Maybe PCCamingWiki is what i am talking about, i will take a look.

Actually it wasnt for me (i find what i am looking for more of the time) but more for other people.
I was seeing these thread on Steam or other sites, answered or not and thinking that many must give up playing old games.
