i have now changed my german exe with the "be hexeditor" like your english exe, absolutely no change, bahhh, i give it up.........

(with settlers 4 and other old games i had no problems with the editor change, only with emperor, so its not on me ;) )

I'm having trouble with the .7z archive that's supposed to contain the fix for Cleopatra. When I download cleopatra.7z and take a look inside with WinRAR, all of the .exes for specific resolutions have a packed filesize of 0 and when I try to unpack them, I get an error message. I've tried redownloading the archive several times but to no avail. This makes me think there's a problem with the version of the file uploaded to the website.

Does anybody know how I can get the original version of this fix?

Try using http://www.7-zip.org/ instead (it's free).

I looked into 7-Zip and was surprised to find out how much of a superior program it is. I guess it's time for my 8 year free trial free trial of WinRAR (clicking away the reminder it has expired every time I open an archive) to finally come to an end.

7-Zip seems to have solved my problem with the widescreen exe files, too. I never would have thought to try another program because I never had trouble extracting anything with WinRAR before.

my thanks as well for zeus and the xpack in widescreen. i have a request though, make it allow windowed mode for the same resolutions.

I've just one little demand: Is it possible to add 1024x600 support? I'm playing a lot on my netbook, these games are amazing and it's so much fun to play them portable.
