FEAR 3

There is currently a FOV setting in the CFG text file that came with the final game update but it still has some kind of limit applied and is too narrow, at least for my taste. Even setting it to 200 has no effect beyond a certain point.
I think it is locked to about 85, but since they created a fix, in principle it can be altered.

I already have a no hud fix applied and to be able to widen the FOV even more would be the icing on the cake.

Any help appreciated :)

Field of view (FOV) • Link - http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/F.E.A.R._3
Add parameter[1]

Right-click the game in the Steam client and choose Properties.
Click Set Launch Options and add -fov:X, where X represents the FOV value. 105 is the maximum allowed FOV, and the default is 85.
Click OK and run the game.

I've tried that already but no luck.

The FOV setting seems to work in windowed mode for lower resolutions eg 1920x1080 but I'm playing on 5040x1050.

Right now, as the PCGamingWiki says: "Resolution can't be set, it seems to scale with the window dimensions".

Some kind of aspect ratio lock means the menu will not allow you to change resolution in a window.

I think the FOV fix would work if I could force the resolution in a window...

I would try a hex edit but that might not be possible with Steam executables. Any more ideas?

By the way, it's a good time for this since the FEAR games are 75% off on Steam this weekend...

I have updated the DR - in the Attachment is the CheatEngine Table - change one of the 85 (FOV) Numbers and restart your Checkpoint.

Thanks so much for your work on this, working great on triple screens.

Sorry for the late acknowledgement - I was on holiday. Nice to come back to a fix! :onethumb:
