Considering it has native widescreen not really. What is your problem? No widescreen options? Crashes?

Since my system can't handle this game at the full 1680x1050 of my Widescreen Dell, is there a way to force a lower but still 16x10 resolution?

EDIT - Untested answer to my own question:

1280x768 16x10
1440x900 16x10

Put this into the target area of the the shortcut:
-width [pixels] -height [pixels]

Using these two commands you can set a custom resolution in Pixel Width x Pixel Height (e.g. -width 640 –height 480 starts HL2 with 640x480 resolution). Make sure you choose a resolution supported by your monitor and with the correct ratio of width to height.

um, steam supports, both those res's just 1280x768 is 16:9 not 16:10, 1280x800 is 16:10 (me thinks)

just go to options and video man.

In the readme file for Dark Messiah it states that "Dark Messiah does not officially support 16:10", so that would mean that we don't have the correct FOV for it even when picking a rez such as 1680x1050 in the menu

Doesn't officially support it...? Then why would they even have the option for it in the settings menu?

I would imagine b/c it's based off the source engine,b/c even CS 1.6 has 16:10 options, and what I think they mean is that it doesnt support a 16:10 FOV by defualt
