Good day guys. This site had helped me quite a lot of times previously, but this time after some searching I can't find a help for this game.

Are there any way to play the original Crimson Skies ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimson_Skies_(video_game) )for pc with widescreen monitor? Either to change the resolution to widescreen or play it in windowed mode?

Thanks in advance, whether there is a way or not. And sorry if it's been discussed before, can't find it.

I've just found a way to run Crimson Skies at custom resolutions. The fix is designed for NVIDIA cards, but it may allow the use of higher resolutions on ATI cards too. I don't know.

To get it to work:
[list]Install Crimson Skies,
Patch to 1.02,
Extract the fix which is found here (http://timeslip.chorrol.com/current/csfix.7z) to your Crimson Skies directory,
Edit the new .ini file per the comments.[/list:u]

It's working for me. I can run CS at 1920x1200 now though the menus are tiny.

BTW, I've found that the game is incredibly sensitive to FSAA. The most I've been able to get out of it is 4x with 4x Anistropic. For SLI, Alternate Frame Rendering 2 seems to be the most problem free.

Thanks for that :) Will give it a shot if I ever find my old CD.
Is the game Hor+ ? Could you post comparison screenshots (default 4:3/fixed widescreen) ?

It is not Hor+. I don't know if it's stretched or Vert- (I don't really understand the difference between those two, but that's not important). Here are the screenshots in 1024x768 and 1920x1200 (linked because they are not shrunk at all):

I know that this is a long-shot, but has someone figured out how to get the game to run in higher resolutions at 60FPS?

For some reason, the resolution override in csfix also caps the frame rate at 30.
