zoom and fov is the same thing, but what we call a zoom in the game is not a zoom, it's only moving the camera

anybody have a fix for this yet?

When outside the extra zoom allows a lovely widescreen experience. In small tunnels things get annoying, though, and I would love a field of view change - it would seriously improve play in such situations.

We need more players to report this to blizzard.
Could someone start a topic about this on the official US wow forum ?

you can use this to explain the FOV problem:
- a game that support widescreen:

- wow: (original 4/3, orignal 16/10 and a fake corrected 16/10):

New patch out ... amongst other things the readme says ...

* Added support for widescreen video resolutions.

I don't have the game so I can't tell you what this means or if it gives a better FOV ... fixing the cutdown view.

Anyone want to give it a try ?

Hmm... I always thought the FoV looked just right in World of Warcraft at 1680*1050 without any config changes. I never actually tested if the widescreen resolutions give a wider field of view though. I did now, though, post-1.10 patch...

The widescreen FoV is very slightly higher, but it's not quite high enough I think.

Oh, and the FoV doesn't seem any different to me since the patch. So I'm not sure what the "widescreen video resolutions" thing in the patch notes meant. o_O
