Yeah I get that but, why would they bother to leave it if they aren't going to set the FOV accordingly?

it has the option so that you still at least have 16:10 resolutions. I personally tested 16:10 @ 1680x1050 to 1280x1024 and 16:10 showed more but it only showed enough that makes me think it's using a 16:9 FOV, I claim that b/c of the way the comment was worded in the readme file, it doesnt say widescreen in general, it specifically says 16:10.. so logically they're saying it has a proper 16:9 FOV..but not a 16:10 one

Hmm, I wouldn't even be able to check for myself right now. As a matter of fact I still haven't beaten the game because I got to a part in Chapter 5 and the FPS plumetted to 5-7 and no matter what I do it doesn't budge :?. Same stupid thing happened to me in the demo as well.

A boatload of memory seems to help with Source engine based game loading times. I had 1GB of ram, and went to 3GB and loading times reduced significantly for HL2 and DM:M&M. The loading times still aren't great but they are bearable.

The only thing I could do to not go crazy with the load times was lower the texture quality to medium.

I have 2gb of Corsair DC DDR400 @ CAS 2-3-3-6 the load times are acceptable to me and I'm running everything on High., also keep in mind running antivirus software while playing a newer generation game is a bad idea. *I'm to tired right now to explain why, expect a thread in the morning*

also.. i dont see a problem with non incredibly fast load times, if I can run everything on high and wait about 30 secs longer then that's fine with me, b/c once it loads it's all about the rams speed. I wont sacrifice quality in a game just so I don't have to wait about 7-15 secs longer at a load screen.

The difference between medium quality textures and high quality textures in Dark Messiah is a heck of a lot more than 7-15s.

I wasn't trying to be exact, I was very breifly describing my whole approach about load times.

Well, it was a gross under statement. The difference in the times is seconds to minutes.
