So me2621a, are you good with Doom 3?

Here's the method for Call Of Duty Single Player:

1. Patch Call Of Duty to version 1.5 (Not necessary. Just a good idea.)
2. Use WordPad to open this file "config.cfg". The default location of this file is "C:Program FilesCall of DutyMain".
3. Find these five lines and change them to the following exactly:
a. seta cg_fov "90.395093"
b. seta r_mode "-1"
c. seta r_customheight "900"
d. seta r_customwidth "1440"
e. seta com_introplayed "1"
4. Click on File>Save
5. Close WordPad
6. Start Call Of Duty Single Player and everything should display properly.

The fifth line change is optional. Without it, you'll see a blank screen while the Activision and Infinity Ward Intros play. "1" stops them from playing all together.

There is also a separate file for Call of Duty Multiplayer called "config_mp.cfg". It is located in the same directory. You can make the same changes in that file to change the resolution. Unfortunately, the FOV change doesn't stick. It always reverts to the default "80". You will fill your screen side to side, but the game world will be stretched.

The only thing better than that spec laptop is the Ultra variant of the 6800Go, and the 2.13GHz P-M. :) It should be plenty. ;)

You don't need to buy the Steam version of Half Life if you own it already - you 'just' have to download a 700-odd MB file that sorts out Steam and whatnot.

The desktop 6800 Ultra is 425(core)/1100(memory), but that is not what the laptop chip is running at. Anandtech say that the 6800 Ultra Go runs at 450(core)/550DDR(memory). Google is your friend. ;)

Steam is a download available from http://www.steampowered.com - click on 'Get Steam Now' to take you to a page where you can download a small applet (600KB) that will then download all the other necessary nonsense for Steam for whichever games you have installed. So install Half-Life and the other games you want to play first. The whole download is something in the region of 700MB for the whole thing.

Not recommended.

Overclocking anything in a laptop is risky at the best of times. You certainly won't get it up to 400 or 425, because the cooler on the Ultra is a lot larger than that on the vanilla 6800 Go.

Just be happy with the system you've got - it shouldn't have too much trouble with most games at the minute.

No solution in the forum yet.

If it's new, it might be a while.

Just type 'pacific fighter' into the search box to check every so often.
