So it looks like Hayden is back and Helifax is upgrading his fix to be more user friendly for people? I really don't understand why people were having so much trouble getting Helifax's fix to work anyway.

Seriously, does this mean I can stop trying to figure out how to write yet another fix? I made some (small) progress trying to figure this out in VB but (and I'm not kidding) this would take me at least 4-6 weeks to figure out. i could keep going if we seriously think we need to release the source code for a fix but I really am not even sure mine will ever work even as well as Helifax's anyway, and it sucks trying to write this all from scratch since other people have already figured this out.

Welcome back HaYDeN!

Please take your time. Great work cannot be rushed. Sounds like your latest fix takes care of all.

Am I right in thinking that Oblivion was patched only 1 time by Bethesda, versus Skyrim every 3 or 4 weeks?

When TestV is run, is it fully loaded into memory, or are parts of it swapped in and out of memory?

The app or the app and all of its data? The data is swapped in and out as needed, otherwise you'd see TESV occupying the same amount of memory as the data folder which is way more then the 32bit executable can map. You'll also notice that when you're running around a small indoors area the game's system and vram usage is lower then say wandering the wilderness and the amounts will grow/shrink as you change zones. If the game had a genuine 64bit executable it could probably throw the entire thing into system ram (provided you have enough room) but currently it has to pick and choose what's relevant to the scenes you're in due to the 4.3GB limit of a 32bit LAA enabled executable.

Meanwhile, a hacky work-around to that if you're looking to take advantage of a lot of system ram is to make a ramdisk, throw the game's folder in there and launch from there. ;)

Hi all,

Doing some minor tweaks and the fix will be ready:)

Fixed so far

- Books , no longer require a toggle. Now work 100% (Scrolls too). Minor bug found when using Xbox0360 controller: After viewing a book the hud moves to the left. It can be repositioned by pressing Start button twice. For Mouse+ Keyboard this doesn't happen...weird.
- Map is functional 100% no toggles are required. Map is now proper scaled and markers work correctly. Minor bug is when clicking on a marker: The menu appears on the right monitor but is 100% workable.
- Correct Aspect Ratio and full usage of skill menu. Skills are now properly displayed. Hud is properly displayed. Minor bug: Navigation with the mouse in the skill tree is wrong. I recommend the keyboard. Once a skill is selected to invest in the menu appears and the selection can be done with the mouse.
- Items are automatically scaled and centered based on your resolution.[b]
- [b]Hud is centered.
Sometimes when reverting from MAP the onscreen elements might appear on the left monitor. Hit ESC 2 times to correct this.
- Updated to work with the latest WSF build (big thanks to dopefish)
- Support for monitors starting from 2- 1001 monitors with nVidia Surround & Eyefinity Autodetection (thanks to WideScreen Fixer and dopefish for this)
- Text and icons in Loading Screens are now correctly displayed. Minor bug is found only when pressing Continue from Main Menu...
- Looking into an automatic way to start the fix once the game was found.

- The game required alot of modifications to make it work "natively". All modifications are made in the games engine.

Best Regards
