Is he meaning to delete the .con files- start the game- update the shortcut while the game is running somehow? Or just delete the files, update the shortcut and start the game and pick the new resolution from the drop down.

So far I cannot get 1680 to show as an option. Otherwise the game runs.

delete the files, update the shortcut, start the game and play (do not enter the in-game res options)

It doesn't say anywhere you should go in and choose the res in the games drop down list. That is why you should add it to your shortcut to force it to use the res because you can't choose it in-game.

Could someone tell me how to get 1680x1050 for bf 2142??? I have tried the (+menu 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050) change to the short cut target. Every thing I have tried comes up with the same results screen changes size a few times and crashes to desktop.

You know, I am hating EAs WS is a hack attitude. Why not disable 5.1 surround sound, for all the people that don't own 5.1 speakers?
