What's the complaint exactly? Don't look at the 'text' of the resolutions; AoE2Wide will use 1024x768 as 'source' resolution for yours, and will therefore disable anything higher than that (for technical reasons). So no, it won't get better... until you buy an even better monitor, that is :)

Thx for yours reply. Ah I was noobie , Now I am smarter with resolutions :D
The only bug that I have is, that the game crashes when I use alt+tab.
I see only a cmd window and explorer.exe dosent want to restart even ctrl+alt+del dosen't do anything... and I hawe to restart the PC with the restart button...But I think thats becouse my game is not original ?!
Or soemthing is not correct couse as I said the cmd window wrote errors when creating the bat and exe files.

The locking is because of the color fix: it freezes the Explorer process... You'll have to accept that you can't alt-tab out of this almost 15 year old game... Although, there is another color fix available (see a page or two up in this thread), if you manage to use that, you can remove the lines with 'process.exe' from the created batch files, and alt-tab should be ok again!

i don't recommend alt tabbing out of Ddraw games even with that fix, it can screw it up.

I downloaded and installed the patch, everything works correctly, but I'm still having problems with the colors on Win7. (i.e. still getting red pixels everywhere, river colors are messed up, etc.) I looked through the thread for a solution but didn't see one. Maybe I missed something?

Try to press ctrl alt del while ingame and stop the explorer.exe task.
After if u want to use ur windows u hawe to manualy start explorer.exe again in taskmanager "applications" tab and tipeing explorer.exe in new process.

Using the batch file the patcher creates doesn't work for you?

Nope. It gave me two .bat files: AoC1.0 1920x1080 and AoCmyth 1920x1080. Neither of them have the colors fixed. I didn't think to ctrl-alt-del and end the explorer.exe task, will test that tomorrow to see if it works.

Hello boekabart,

Thx for your great Mod!!!

I installed it on my Notebook and everything is fine, but on the PC of my friend there are some problems with the graphics of the Fog of War...

I hope u can help us with that...

1. a "grass" location

2. a "dessert" location

3. a "winter" location

 It's weird, that the Screenshots look normal on his PC, but that the graphics look strange in the game itself...

I dont know, if this is important, but Ihe has Vista 64 Bit and I have Vista 32 Bit...

Also my Notebook has a Geforce 9700m GT and he has a ATI Radeon 4800 Series (last driver: 8.620.0.0 from 15/05/2009)...

Thank u very much for helping us with that problem!!!

Definitely caused by your display drivers.
