Now I'm trying to hack /global/GlobalMemoryFile.bin file to able widescreen option. There are some code regarding 'Widescreen' in this file. But don't expect too much though:? I am afraid I'm able to hack it, but 50% positive.

I'll post some picture of it so that everybody else can have look at it and help me out.

mainNFS folder/Global/GlobalMemory.bin

U can modify some codes in the file and was able to change 1280x1024 to 1920x1200 but... change applies to only 'TEXT' itself but not real resolution of the game.

I'm quite sure that in the same file, there should be some codes relating changing real resolution. [/img]

If you're looking for the actual res, it won't be in ASCII text in the file - it'll be encoded in Little Endian and therefore won't make much sense (1024 in little endian is 0004).

The res itself is probably in the .exe, but EA normally encrypt them. If the .exe is really small, it might reference a .dll for that sort of thing.

hmmm interesting, so by modifying this resolution text..the resolution still stays at normal 4:3 aspect? Thanks for the find anyway though!, we are getting there!

What I believe was meant was that while the game reports in the options that the res is (insert edited widescreen res here), it isn't, because you have only changed the reporting text, rather than the actual code that controls the res. If we can find that, then the end is in sight...

I guess we just have to wait a bit.

Sad that companies dont realise WS gaming is a fact on PC today, and that games need to support WS.

I take it the .exe from the demo doesn't work on the retail version? Sometimes the .exe from demos are identical to the full release with one notable exception - no protection. I don't have the demo so I can't check it.

I'm not even playing this till I can get a decent res. ATM I'm stuck with 800x600 stretch on a 155cm DLP. Yuck!

I hear you. I'm not even going to buy this game until I know a widescreen hack works. Too bad because I loved the demo. :(

Same here, was going to buy it too, but waiting until widescreen is supported.

Or I'll get it just so I can register and bug their support about the crappy support for highend gaming on PC.
