I still can't get above the 1280x1024 though. Not sure why.

Hey guys.

I dunno what happens there. My display is 1400x900, running Vista Ultimate 64x.
The game itself runs fine, but...
Check my shortcut:

BF2.exe" start /AFFINITY 2 +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1400 +szy 900

I have the downloaded version of BF2.

Something loads, then I see a black screen for half a second and then I am back to desktop.
The only way I can make it is following:

BF2.exe" start /AFFINITY 2 +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +szx 1400 +szy 900

It runs in a window, that does not fill the whole screen.

So I played a bit with the settings.

BF2.exe" start /AFFINITY 2 +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 880
Now the window seems to be 2 pixels wider than my monitor and I can move it to the middle, so it looks ok.

But what now really pisses me off is:
The game is NOT runnable in FULLSCREEN. How to change that?

HELP!

BF2/2142 are very picky when it comes to specifying a resolution. It either works, or it displays a black screen.

My fix should work whether you run the game in a window or fullscreen. The fix does nothing to correct the stretched menus. It only makes the view in-game correct. So load into the game and then enable the fix and see if you notice a difference.

I already know that your tool is only fixing the fov.:) No questions there. ;)

I use it correctly, the "FOV" thingy even changes sometimes, I had it to -21,212 something blabla today. And at 1.1000 but even after taking screenshots I never saw a difference... This is really a shame man, I want this shit to run. >.< Fuckin EA.

Are you selecting the correct version from the menu?

Which BF2 do you have? Some kind of digital distribution? CD version? Are you using any nocd cracks or anything? Any different locale version?

I select BF2 1.4-1.41, I have the english language installed, EA downloader version.
This one does not need any cracks or something.

BTW: I just tried out 1280x720, in fullscreen it works...

Now I want to come as close as I can to 1400x900, how can i calculate resolutions so I can pick one that comes close to my native one?
With 16:9 it would be 1400x788, but this one does not start in fullscreen.
Dammit, I would like to have a list with accepted and not accepted resolutions...

I sure hope that 1.5 gives me at least the possibility to choose 1400x900 in the menu, then this tool prolly will work.

Ah, I tried it there too, nothing happened though FOV was 1.100 in the fixer tool.

I want to reinstall, but only if neccecary, because as you said, BF2 is picky with resolutions so probably nothing will change...

Are there any 1400x900 16:10 users who actually have BF2 in fullscreen?

You're not actually telling BF2 to be 1400x900, are you? Because that's the wrong resolution. ;)

The correct 16:10 resolution would be 1440x900.

Abwbwgagagagwgwga...

No...

Way...

How ...

I ..

Omg.

How the FUCK did it happen that i fucking thought my damn resolution is 1400x900? I mean I thought that for already 1 month or so! (thats when i started bothering about widescreen).

Goddamit!

I will try the tool right now!

Ok, the game is fine in full+widescreen now, but the fixer still does not change anything...
The key is correct, the fix switches from "no" to "yes" but ingame I see no change.

But I should see something like a small zoom-out when I press the button, right?

When the fix is enabled, your view will "shift" back from where it was previously. You'll be able to see more vertically and horizontally than previous. It should be pretty noticeable.

I'm thinking the culprit here might be the EA Link version. I have the DVD version. The one on EA Link might use a different memory layout.

Can you send me your BF2.exe somehow?
