Hi, I have an AMD 4200 X2, 2 GB Ram, and an EVGA 7900 GT KO. I also have an HD tuner card and sometimes watch TV and use my machine as a DVR. I am going to make the jump to Wide Screen (likely 24"), but am wondering.... 1) I was planning to go to 1920x1200(or 1080) since I do watch some Tv once in a while on it. I am lucky that there is quite a bit of HD over the airwhere I live, although it is currently almost all 1080i or 720p. Will I really need to go this high? Most people I know with wide screens have a native rez of 1440x900, but none have tuner cards. When I watch TV on it, I want the best picture I can get. 2) If I go to 1920x1200, will it kill my machine? Of course, my machine is primarily for gaming, but will I even be able to use it for that if I go to a resolution that high? I was hoping that someone out there has a similar rig and can tell me if say, FEAR still runs at an acceptible rate, or should I hold off until I can upgrade my machine and/or add another graphics card. Thanks! |

Your machine should be able to run most games fine my only worries are FEAR and Oblivion and other very intensive games |

It will definitly be able to run most games, but you will probably have take off AA and AF. If your still lagging a bit, you'll have to turn off some some visuals :( |
