Hm I seem to remember reading that the final version WILL have widescreen support.. though soem devs seem to think that jsut means it supports the resolutions, but still won't stretch properly.

*shakes fist* it'd better god damned support WS after waiting so long for it to come out.

Then again, perhaps squ1zzy could coem to our rescue.

But if the beta stretches, i think i'll suck it up and wait.

As mikeh says some devs seem to think that widescreen means support for the resolutions and not the FOV ... :(

There are a few guys on the nV news forums running it in widescreen but it looks like the top and bottom of the view is cut as you can see less of the players hand and as usual the HUD looks stretched too ... :(
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=86180

Based on that what we would need is a FOV tool ... may be Racer_S can do this for us when the game is released.

Any chance ... someone could take a shot from the same place in the game (if the beta NDA allows it) ... one at 4:3 and one in widescreen ... so we can compare.

If not ... I'll try and get in the beta when I get a chance and see how it looks ...

I can tell that the top and bottom of the screen are severly cut for widescreen. No FOV is gained, and the HUD and UI is stretched badly. Hopefully you guys can figure out a solution!!!

Here are some screenshots:

Actually, after examaning these shots a bit more, I can see that the FOV on the widescreen shot is actually smaller. WTF?! Widescreen users actually lose some of their view... :|

Ugh, this is not what I was hoping to hear in regard to this game. Especially since awareness is key to survival, chopping both vertical and horizontal... was about to preorder it from GoGamer too. Dang it.

Hopefully someone finds a solution to this, and soon.

Yeah, I hope this issue doesnt make it to retail. If so, I hope a simple tweak can take care of the FOV. Man, 16:9 resolutions are even worse. I cant even see anything, the screen is taken up buy a stretched HUD and a huge gun...
