Well, just like in Bioshock (and pretty much in every UE3 game, from what I've heard) the widescreen FOV is messed up in UT3 beta. Screenshots:



I hope they get it right for the final version, but if not... we is need teh hax. :<

Strangely, it doesn't effect the gun though.

Yep ... here is where this was reported first ... pants stuff from Epic.

You can alter it though in UT III up to a maximum of 100 ...
Bring down the console by pressing the Tab key and type in ...

fov 100


I don't know if this will fix it correctly though as I have only tried it in TrilpleHead and it isn't enough for Triplehead and I can't find a way to make it stay at the chosen FOV.
It resets once you die.

Thanks. :) I was following the whole Bioshock thing, but I just never got around to registering here.

I tried it and it does work. 100 seems to be just right for 16:10. ^_^
Even so, the reseting is annoying.

I'll add a screenshot where the "fov 100" command is being used.

Thanks for the screenshot ... it seems 16:9 users are out of luck then if the fov 100 seems so right for 16:10 and won't go any wider ... :(

oops didnt notice... still this sucks... i really expected better from epic

After the numerous deletions of the widescreen threads on the Epic forums, it's not a huge surprise.
