I find this interesting. Do we praise this kind of widescreen support? Surely this is almost as lazy as vert-. Granted, it's more desirable but it's still, visually at least vert-, as you're 'physically' losing the top and bottom of your screen, even if you aren't losing any actual FOV. EDIT : Paddywak ... This has been split from the Assassin's Creed: Detailed Report to keep the DR on topic. Some posts referred to both the pixelization issue and the anamorphic bars ... I did my best to split the topic to reflect the various issues ... sorry if this has affected your posts. |

Some of it is artist's discretion. It would appear that they designed it with 16:9 widescreen as the baseline (it was an XBox 360 game first). Making 4:3 anamorphic is not a "bad" decision. Would it be better if they cut the horizontal for the 4:3 folks? |

Tanuki's screenies don't seem to have that bug though. Too bad there's no demo (never ever), I'd love to see how it behaves on my rig (TH2G or not), both quality- and framerate-wise. Looks like TH2G owners will need Racer_S's helpful skills again on this one :) (his tool for Condemned works so great !) |

This may be a configuration issue, or a video card problem. Are you getting the same thing at other resolutions? Tanuki, What is your setup? Can you post pics at 1680x1050? And, how about a pic at 1400x1050? I wonder if it is an issue with not running at 720p, 1080p, or something like that. |

In TripleHead it puts black bars on the sides to maintain the 16:9 aspect ratio ... http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=128051#128051 |

No, the issue only shows up at the 1680x1050 rez which happens to be my screens native, if I lower it to say 1600x900 its fine; so that is the work around which sucks. Look at the links I posted for examples and what has been tried, basically it seems to be an internal rendering problem with the game. For now I have taken all scaling off and am running the game at 1600x900. |

Whatever the anomaly is, it's not confined to widescreen. The 720x576 shots that Tanuki posted have it, and that is a 5:4 ratio... |

Anyway, I don't really understand what this glitch is all about. I can't see anything wrong with Tanuki's shots. To be honest I cannot notice it in static shots as well. It stands out when moving. I may be tempted to video capture and see if it records the problem when moving. |
