I own Still Life and Indigo Prophecy, so I can look around on those, but likely they were just never designed with advanced options in mind.

Still Life is probably just a rendered background plate, so widescreen would mean stretching almost for sure, I would guess.

Well, I think stretching is better than a 4:3 full screen resolution in WS monitor. :lol:

The Suffering and The Suffering: Ties That Bind can both be played in windowed mode.

Protip :) :

Use Windows XP-s Zune skin because it's quite dark. (download it for free) Also, use a dark wallpaper, so the surrounding sreen area won't irritate your eyes while you are playing.

A problem is, that 1280x1024 is 4:3 resolution in fullscreen but in window mode the image looks a bit vertically streched.
Regarding pixel count, 1280x960 would be truly 4:3.

These older games are the reason why I bought a 16:10 monitor instead of a 16:9 one.

Ive been trying to get Return of The King working in a custom Resolution all day, after trying to locate the correct file to HEX edit eventually i discovered the resolution was being controlled by a .ini file in My Documents (yeah didnt think to look there first lol)

unfortunately there is only a line for Width though

[Video]
AdapterNumber=0
Width=640
Gamma=0.850000
Enable32Bit=1
EnableShadows=1
EnableSimpleShadows=0
AlternateCameras=1
LowResTexture=0
SfxMode=2

i tried changing the Width line to 1920 but this just resulted in the Resolution going to 1280x960 (the max ingame option i get)

so perhaps a solution to this game wont ever be found, which is a shame because it still looks amazing given its age
