Post subject:  Cities XL Plat in Portrait Multi-mon

The recent Simcity fiasco has prompted me to start playing Cities XL.

Cities XL (and its variants) requires the existence of an 800x600 resolution mode at launch when it initiates an FMV sequence.

This poses a problem for multi-monitor gaming on Nvidia surround in portrait mode (landscape is okay as it has an 800x600 mode) since portrait only has 600x800. Is there any way to create an 800x600 mode for this purpose? It doesn't have to even be functional, it just has to not crash the program as it will revert to a higher resolution once it enters the main menu.

I tried SoftTH but the replacement d3d9.dll doesn't play nice with the game (video lockup while loading level).

Any help appreciated.
