[quote]my favorite racing game ever (NFS: Shift) is running very well at 5040x1050 and with latest drivers/hotfix/patch 1.02/EDID workaround.

Hi :)
What is this EDID workaround that you speak of?
I run it with 5870 @ 5760x1200 / 2xAA / rest max.
I am ok with how the game works but stutter that i get every time the cars make contact is very distracting. Do you get those?
The key to getting rid of the stutter is to decrease the GPU workload. Unfortunately, this game's graphics engine is a bit buggy in that even if your setup can provide 60fps - it actually needs far more 'headroom' than that to play smoothly when you get bumped by other cars or the road.

With Vsync disabled (of course), I like to have about 80fps at baseline to provide smooth gameplay under all conditions. This isn't currently possible at 5040x1050 - until they get Crossfire working with this game (hopefully).

Thanks for your reply kondor.
I am interested in EDID and lowering my res from 5760 to 5040.
If you did shift on both resolutions, can you tell me how much FPS (approx) did you gain by going to 5040?
