I'm not having any framerate issues at all.

I have 4xMSAA enabled (only possible with DX10), I set anisotropy filtering up to 16x (default is 4x), I enabled vsync, all graphics options are on, and my framerate is 100% of the time at 60FPS. I haven't disabled vsync to see what kind of framerates it goes up to, but I don't really care for that. As long as it can maintain a solid 60fps, I'm happy.

However there was no ETA on when this patch may appear :(

Good stuff anyway.

My single GTX 275 and Q9550 definately has some massive frame drops at random moments with 4xMSAA and max in-game settings. It runs at a locked 60fps most of the time, dips to the 50s and high 40s here and there, and then suddenly for no apparent reason some corner of some random room will cause a drop to 30fps. It's rather weird and I wonder if it is a DX10 issue, but forcing DX9 gives me a ton of artifacts for some reason, so I'm staying away from that.

It also should be noted that the game is very sensitive to framerate fluctuation, reminds me of Far Cry 2. Dropping from 60 to 45 feels like dropping to the 20s for some reason.

That's pretty odd.

One thing to remember though is that this game is multi-threaded and spawns a bunch of threads for various things. This makes free CPU% even more necessary than a single-core game. If you have something in the background that suddenly needs CPU, and there is none available because the game is using it all, it might spike a lower FPS for a moment. Whereas if it was just a single-core game, you'd have more free cores for background apps to use CPU and not affect games.

I don't have really special hardware or anything so I'm not sure. I definitely see other people having problems but there are none here. I use DX10 as well, and haven't tried DX9 yet.

Try forcing DX9 for me, see if it works for you. All I get when I google artifacting is people saying the GPU is about to go which I know is not the case because it works fine in every other game and in DX10 in this game, but everytime I load it in DX9 I get severe artifacts.

As for CPU needs it has been a while since I went through my programs and made sure nothing superflous is running, I will try that today.

Well glad they admitted WS issues faster this time, now lets see them add EyeFinity support and I might pick this up even though I heard the story is a lot worse than the first one.

My DX9 issue went away magically, now the game runs more or less perfectly with 4xMSAA. Not the rock solid 60fps like I get with the orgiinal, which is odd since the original looks better, but it runs well enough.

I am not to far along but A.) graphics look better to me than Bioshock 1.. though its marginal. and B.) the shooting mechanics are a little more polished and C.) its fun sooo.. but yeah i want to use eyefinity for this game also.. well I want to use eyefinity for most games, I just picked up Stalker Pripyat, Bioshock 2, Bad Company 2 (beta for now) and Mass Effect 2 and I my 5870's are coming in Monday so I have alot to learn to get most of my games in triple wide screen mode. Unfortunaly for me I dont know much about .inf files etc..

Looks like the patch that was release Feb 12th makes it "playable" in eyefinity. some UI elements are stretched. Horizontal mouse movement in the main menu is exaggerated but thankfully not in gameplay. And the kicker is the dam helmet takes up most of the room on the side monitors.
