If you read all the different comments amd has made you can see that they say are keen on accepting that all the 5000 series cards will support eyefinity. I would draw the conclusion that the 5870x2 will only be released when the drivers support multi gpu crossfire acrossed eyefinity. I personally beleive that the drivers are already there and that amd will launch the 5870x2 and the new catalys when windows 7 launches. So far all benchmarks point toward the cards running best on windows 7 and as we know these are the only gpu's that support directx 11 at this moment.

I also have a feeling nvidia may release one of thier cards in the gt300 series around the same time windows 7 launches. If they wait until afterwards they will be falling behind by a large margin as ati will have already launched thier base models and thier multi gpu with the new drivers. Many enthusiast are early adopters and the real money is in these individuals.

Statements made by nvidia recently about thier fermi cards place suggestions that thier cards wil be far superior to ati's but as always we have to take it with a grain of salt as anycompany will claim thier product to be superior as to impress the consumer and plant the notion in thier head. Don't be brain washed!!!! 0.o wait for those benchies we all love ;p

CF issue should be resolved the moment the 5870x2 is available, since this card acutally is nothing more than a CFed 5870.
In other words, as long as Eyefinity doesn't support CF, a 5870x2 can't be advertised as an Eyefinity card.

Not true, it could be and it would only use 1 of the 2 cores. Its very possible this happens if they do not fix the no CF issue by the time the card is due.

Seems right now even with 3x 24" monitors most games can max out but it would be nice to max out those few games that cant and leave the system a bit more room to grow.

I dont think I will upgrade to this card because I wont be able to sell the 5870 I already have more much to make up the cost and I cant fit 5870 CF in my case.

Is this an annouced solution? If not, then you can guess my answer: No comment! :p

BTW - nice system case. Running one of them myself now, needed to move to it as my 5870 wouldn't fit in my old case!

thanks Dave lol yeah this case is gorgeous, i threw in a red led light to brighten up the guts a bit.

also, this case is actually enjoyable when viewed from the rear end - not alot of cases rear ends look hot as this one... that is unless the case somehow turns into a dragon and starts farting everywhere, then theres a big problem.

Yeah that's right. Interesting point you got there. Then it'd be absolutely pointless to get a 5870x2 at all (for the sole purpose of improving the performance of Eyefinity).

I really really hope ATI don't mess that up.
